Small tilting microscope. c. 1875

This small tilting microscope is only 19 cm tall. Its focus system is manual, rotating the optical tube. It has only one objective. Its square stage is fixed and has a curious fixing system for lyre-shaped preparations. It is a tiltable microscope by means of a curious system of a steel sphere that joins the apparatus to the stand. A screw in the base makes it possible to harden the tilt mechanism by acting on the base of the microscope. A similar device also from an unknown manufacturer can be found on page 67 of the BCC, nº125.
