Piece 18

Monocular microscope. Harvey Reynolds. Leeds 1900.

This Harvey Reynolds monocular microscope was made entirely of brass, although the three-legged foot, shaft, and tube are blued. It has a coarse screw at the junction of the vertical axis with the tube and the micrometer located vertically on the axis. It has a simple wheel condenser with four holes. Circular stage and revolver with two interchangeable objectives in the twist.

It is a transition microscope, because although it incorporates interchangeable objectives in a revolver, it is possibly the first model to include this advanced system. It still has a simple circular wheel condenser with four holes.
